Surface Traction Coating

Surface traction coating adds non-slid and non-skid properties to industrial equipment and machinery. Coatings can also impart anti-corrosion and abrasion-protection properties. A thermal spray expert from Hayden Corp can find the right solution for parts that need surface traction coating. They can match the type of coating and application method with your exact needs so that you get the desired results.  Textures range from 200 Ra (fine) - 800 Ra (very rough) surface finish and are available with option RELEASE TOP COAT.

Application methods to achieve the correct level of surface traction include flame spray, plasma spray and arc wire spray.

Why Opt for Surface Traction Coating?

When matched with the application and properly applied, surface traction coatings can increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and offer the best surface texture and grip for your particular needs. Coatings can also reduce corrosion, wear, and unwanted buildup on surfaces. Clean, properly functioning equipment can, in turn, increase and then maintain production quality and lessen noise during operation.

Surface traction coatings have applications in commercial and industrial settings, and specific coatings are available for both indoor and outdoor locations. Household applications are also possible.

What Are the Processes for Thermal Spray Coating to Achieve Surface Traction?

The best type of thermal spray coating and preferred application method will depend on your desired level of surface traction finish.

  • We offer a plasma-sprayed HC 1071 coating when needing a fine finish traction. A proven option for coated paper rolls and textile industries, this coating provides superior durability and bond strength.

  • Flame spray guns heat and apply coating using an oxy-fuel flame and a pressurized gas jet.  This innovative method provides Medium & Rough finishes for HC 10712, HC 10715 & HC 10716 selections.  Furthermore, because it requires minimal equipment, it is suitable for on-site application in almost any location.

  • Arc wire spray relies electrical arc of twin wire to apply thermal spray coatings.  The application equipment is highly portable, and the high capacity of the system makes this an efficient option for covering large surface area

- In addition to large rolls and surfaces, the arc wire spray technique offers anti-corrosion protection and repair for exposed surfaces or components, especially those that are outdoors.  Sprayed Aluminum and Zinc are common.
